I'm constantly amazed at how far I can push a shot through cropping or enlarging or both. My old D30 struggled a bit, but the D60 and 10D (and 300D as you've shown) have enough pixels to extract a lot. The 1D has a "lowly" 4mp, and I didn't expect much from it. DavidP sent me a shot from his 1D to play with, and I enlarged it to a 13x19 print without the pixels even breaking a sweat. Don't we live in a wonderful age for photography?

Two little-known types of immigrant visas are the T and the U visas. The T visa is for people innocently involved in human trafficking, and the U visa is for victims of crime. The U visa's basic purpose is to make it easier for police to prosecute those who commit violence.
Both types of visas were discussed in a recent Dallas Morning News (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/052010dnmetuvisa.8c47617.html) article. Here are excerpts from the article, beginning with a discussion of the U visa:
The visas began flowing only 18 months ago and the majority have gone to domestic violence victims, say officials from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Under the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act, up to 10,000 such visas are authorized annually. Illegal immigrants may receive such visas if they've suffered "substantial" physical or mental abuse from criminal activity and, among other things, a law enforcement agency certifies they have information on criminal activity. The visa can lead to permanent legal residency status.
The issuing of U visas comes at a tense time in the national immigration debate, amid a polarizing crackdown and potentially broader policing powers against immigrants in Arizona. And it illuminates a prickly point of justice: Should the federal government give illegal immigrants special treatment for a societal good such as fighting violent crime?
The Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act created both the U visa and the T visa. They're near the end of a complex network of visas, A through V.
T visas, for those involved in human trafficking, began flowing in 2002, but the flow of U visas was delayed as regulations on issuance were hammered out. In the last three full fiscal years, only about 250 to 300 T visas have been approved of the maximum annual allotment of 5,000.
In the last fiscal year, ending in September 2009, the federal government authorized 5,825 U visas. In the first five months of this fiscal year, nearly 5,000 such visas were given. There are about 6,600 visa applications pending, and the 10,000 allotment is expected to be reached as early as next month, said Maria Elena Garcia Upson, a spokeswoman for the immigration agency.

I applaud IV's core member's achievement so far. I have been participating from Sunjoshi's S1932 thread to ISNAmerica.org and finally was happy when I saw IV progressing. As busy professionals what IV's core member's have achieved is commendable.
Looking back @ S1932 and this comprehensive Immigration reform bill. I strongly feel that we should concentrate on backing a bill meant only for legal Immigration. Anti Illegal immigration forces, make no mistake are all anti legal Immigration too. So these folks make lot of noice and have found means like budget reconciliation and amnesty to block our reforms. Majority of Americans and the lawmakers are pro-Legal Immigration (We have seen this when Senator Byrd amendment was voted out when the senate was discussing S1932).It does not mean we should not take any part in Comprehensive Immigration reform or similar bills. In fact we should all still send faxes call lawmakers and be vocal as much as we can but the main
aim has to be a bill dealing with legal Immigration only. One Other point I would like to put forth is we should Initiate a "for Legal Immigration only" bill in the house first so will not be jubilant when it passes in senate and then go in depression when it fails in committee or the house. If Dem's come to power in the house the scenario is going to be very different after the November elections but for now this is all we can do for the few days remaining before the election.

Hi All,
I have received a information regarding my EB2 (PD Jan 15 2005)Approval from my old company( Here all the fees are being met by me).I had left that company last year trying to pursue my carrier.
New company has given me an approved labour for EB3 OCt 2004 and I140 is approved.
I would like to know from experinced guys , as to what should I be doing, should I resign from new company and join back the old one?
As GC is for future employment, can i apply for I140 throgh my old company and join them back in I485 Stage?
When can we expect EB2 PD of Jan 2005 to be current.
I would appreciate your responses.
Thanks
Sreedhar

Informative response sparked a few new questions : Why would one have to start Isonazid if the chest x-ray is negative? Is latent TB akin to being a carrier of HIV waiting to see if AIDS develops? What happens if I am ever exposed to TB again? Did the infected person have an active TB infection?

Well, there is no requirement from USCIS that forces companies to revoke 140 after employees leave or get laid off from the company. Its more to do with ability to pay issue. When a company receives a ability to pay rfe, it needs to show all the financial records along with how many 140s have been applied by them. USCIS checks the financial docs and number of 140s (underline wages) to make sure that company can pay wages. Most of the time, small time consulting companies get A2P rfe so mostly they revoke the 140s but in this economy, we can't be sure about big companies too.

Hey Flash, would you be interested in a non profit Digitalosophy project?
Basically it's a file sharing app (flash, xml, php, asp, etc). I really need a logo, and some design work.
Of course, there isn't any payment as it's non profit, and geared toward Kirupa user's as long as your a member here, you can access the app.
I have another guy working with me, hopefuly I can round up a few more peeps.
Of course you will get full credit for whatever work you do on the site credits page.
this is mainly a portfolio builder, if your interested hit me up on AIM, if not pm me and i'll delete this.

Hi All,
First off, thank you for taking the time read this.
Now I did see a lot of discussions around this topic but could not get a real answer to my situation, Can someone please help me understand this better.
Currently working for the same employer who started my GC process, Labour applied and approved in Sep 06, I-40 approved in 2007, 485 pending. I'm with the employer for 6 years now. I have a masters degree (MCA) but the job does not require a masters when I joined. I have my bachelors (both 3yr degrees from India). I have close to 10 years of professional experience.
Do I qualify for the port, assuming my job does not require masters degree. Thank you all in advance.
current job does not qualif for EB2, but you can use your experience to join a new employer and port to EB2.

Oh for windows development you would want to look into WPF. The basic idea is to change the border style for the window to none (don't know the exact c++ way, but a google search should show). Then you will want to draw your own windows and drag areas.
Also its usually best practice to keep the windows the same from app to app.

I am planning for Green Card application.
Who has experience about Accountant Green card application,
Eb2 or EB3?
If you use EB2 , how is your job title and education requirements and job descriptions?
Thanks a lot
Xbeartai
You will need a relatively high level position to qualify for EB-2, since there will have to be a masters requirement or 5 years of experience. To the best of my knowleddge, a Senior Accountant is at the lower end of experience levels (may just require a 4 year degree or a CPA). You will have to describe your position in more detail to get a better answer. To qualify for EB-2, you would have to be in a position more like an accounting manager (in a CPA firm), or a CFO in a company.

Hey All,
I am brand new to macro photography. I just got a 60mm Nikkor and the issue I am having is extremely narrow focus area when shooting a tight macro. Is there a way to compensate for this or is buying an extension really the only way.
Thanks for your input.

Hello everybody ! I am 22 years old. My parents had applied for GC under the employment based category. I, unfortunately, aged out before my parents applied I-140 because of the stupid backlogs. So I aged out even before an I-140 was filed. I was reading the Child protection act info and could not understand if I will be "automatically classified to the appropriate category" for GC which is Family 2B and retain my "original PD." Does this apply to me as I had not even filed I-140 when I aged out ? My parent's PD is Oct 2000 so does this mean I am under Family 2B with Oct 2000 PD ?? Please help me out. I am sure many of you with sons/daughters that are in a similar situation. Thanks

What if the case is where I want to take up a new full time position and convert my current full time position to part time.....I guess one way to do it would be to transfer H1 to the new employer...wait for an approval and then file for another concurrent H1 for the part time job with the old company..But the problem is I'd have to wait until new approval comes...and also convince both companies to shell out 2k plus in filing fees....does any one have a better alternative ? Thanks again
I believe that to convert a full time position to part time, all you have to do is re-file your LCA.
