Yes, as per current law you can get SS benefits after retirement age even if you do not have a GC and even if you are not residing in US. The only requirement is for you to have 40 SS credits.
However, given the current state of SS, it is quite likely that rules might change over next 5, 10, 20, 30 years.

The upside-down "V" shaped branches in the upper left corner are distracting, but could probably be cloned out with a bit of work in PS. The bright leaves in the upper right corner are also distracting, but a bit of burning in could probably make them stand out less. The water is blown out down at the bottom, but that's easy to excuse if you're using a P&S where you don't have much control over the exposure - or even a way to reliably gauge it until the image is on your computer monitor. Overall, the image has potential, and it shouldn't be too hard to fix most of the little issues I see with a bit of time in Photoshop. :)

I believe its a good idea to wait for the RFE since that would be the right way to go about this.
When USCIS issued FAQ that they'll accept the applications without medical forms.. they did replied to it.. Check for USCIS FAQ # 1 (http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/EBFAQ1.pdf)
Q13: Can applications be filed without a required medical examination report?
A13. Yes. Consistent with its current regulations and practice, USCIS will accept adjustment of applications filed pursuant to Visa Bulletin No. 107 without a completed medical examination. In such cases, USCIS will issue a request for evidence.

I know that UK and France require transit visa, but I was wondering whether I can fly via KLM (Amsterdam) OR Lufthansa (Frankfurt) without any transit visa ?

Is tourist visa same as business visa for Canada? Live in the US, i-485 pending with Valid EAD and have valid tourist visa. I need to visit one of my company's client for a few days. DO i need a separate visa or should tourist visa do? What do i say at the border crossing?

It is a B-1/B2 visa ...depending on the purpose at Port of Entry on the I94 officer will give
B1 or B2 (in your case B1)
But some you have GC pending I485...you are a potential immigrant so you may not get b1/B2....but i think you can enter on EAD/AP

You think the quota this coming year will be exhausted on 1st April itself? Or do you guess that its going take longer, if not as long as this past year?
my guess would be its going to last a few months again. Not as long as 2009 (ie. not till Christmas) but definately not on the 1st of April.
The H1 usage is a good reflection of the economy and the rate of hiring. Both have been bad, are expected to still be bad till April and only slowly start to pick up. So demand will be more than this year because:
- economy is expected to better, hiring is now slowly starting.
- many companies who were prevented from hiring H1s under TARP limitations are now out of TARP (this applies to the finance sector on the east coast, not so much to the west coast IT companies).
the only thing that could push down demand if there is some kind of immigration change like the ones that Sen. Grassley etc have been pushing for, trying to make H1s more restrictive.

My H1B was approved 3 weeks back i.e on July 1st and also received approval notice from USCIS on July 5th in USPS mail
But today I have received the status change from Approved to Document mailed from USCIS online system
Application Type: I129 , PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER
Current Status: DOCUMENT OTHER THAN CARD OR TRAVEL DOCUMENT MAILED TO APPLICANT
On July 21, 2009, your document I129, PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER was processed and mailed to the address on record. If you have not received it within 30 days of July 21, 2009, contact our customer service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move while your case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your address.

The USCIS system if often messed up, as long as you have received your approval you are good to work on H-1. In rare cases they may decide to send an notice to revoke after they approve the case since they have overlooked something. I would not worry until i actually get such a notice, also you can have your employer call national customer service to make sure everything is okay with your approval.

L1 GC process is the best way to get Gc nowadays. within 6 months u can get it..I know someone(from India) who did.
