Friends, I Received the magic email today!
Yes - I cant believe my eyes, my I-485 has been approved today and card production ordered.
I do have a question: I could not file for my wife's i-485 in July/2007. So, we filed for my wife's application on Aug/01/2008 (Did a overnight express mail on July-31st) as my PD is current as of Aug-1st. So far her application check has not been deposited.
What will happen now? Is she out of status? I am getting really concerned. Gurus help me out?

Your wife is not out of status...you have applied and her official status is 485 applied and status pending. Keep her FedEx receipt handy till you get her official receipt. Dont worry its just 6 days past when you sent her application and there is a huge rush. You will get it soon and check would be encashed soon as well. My experience it takes time to get cash encashment particularly when there is a huge rush.

along with the letter you write, get an employment verification letter from your employer and send that with copies of your I94/visa stamp/I797 approval

I think NSC does process cases even though they are not within the priority date. This way they can pre-adjudicate cases. By doing this they can quickly issue GC when the date moves ahead.
During processing if they have any questions, they could issue a RFE.

They might be sending second FP notice every 15mnths of first/consecutive FP's done once it expires in their system..wait for that notice and dont worry about it now..

Some lenders do not lend to H1/EAD. So if the cheapest lender happens to not accept H1/EAD, then you did not get the cheapest rate.
In your case Wells Fargo happened to have the cheapest rate and they were also accepting H1.
I am on the look out for a loan currently. The guy with the cheapest rate (around 4.8%) does not give loans to H1/EAD folks. So I am forced to go with a guy who is accepting H1/EAD, but the rate is 5%.
When you shop around ask for rate quote and that time they won't ask your immigration status. If bank changes the rate based on your immi status, do not go with them.
I bought the house while I was on H1 4 years back (I am still using my H1 and I have an EAD now) and nobody asked me my imm status. I submitted the document at the time of doing paperwork but it did not change my rate. I got the best rate based on my credit from wells fargo.

I am looking for recommendations from fellow forum members to choose a right service for my education evaluation. All depends on spillover; it�s basically "NO SPILLOVER NO CHANGE". So just hoping for spillover to happen. I believe that the current bulletin might just come out late this week or early next week.
I don't know why I received reds for my post, anyways I respect the opinion of members, I understand that everybody is genuinely pained and suffering so it�s really not anger directed at anybody but the current situation in which we are. My humble opinion is that for any significant noteworthy movement the spillover must happen for individuals belonging to retrogressed countries. Spillover does not really harm anybody. I believe that it�s always better to have ones expectation set correctly rather than expect too much and be disappointed on the day the VB is released. The more the queue moves the better for all, CIR or Recapture are the two genuine solutions to alleviate everybody's pain and suffering. Good luck to all.
I have one observation that the time the Jan VB was released and the inventory report date kind of match up and since no numbers were available there was no change. If we are going to still have the incremental monthly or quarterly allocation for the retrogressed countries we will still see no change or really no significant change. The spillover for now is the anti-biotic or quick fix; it�s really not the cure or the remedy but it will give a great feeling to many who will get greened sooner and hope to others who are behind.

On H1b, you are not even supposed to make money via Google Adsense. Even if the money is diverted to your home country you have to quote these earnings on your taxes. H1b visa holder has to quote his/her worldwide income and its unclear if your income in your home country is taxed here be it Adsense income or a business.
No wonder many entrepreneurial ideas either die or are taking roots in Korea, India or China!
